Maryam and Her Mother, Umm Suqeim 2
Maryam, a 38-year-old Emirati mother of three in Umm Suqeim 2, had tried gym memberships twice and stopped both times within a month. The logistics of driving, finding parking, and being away from the house during the morning school rush made it unsustainable. What she wanted was a female personal trainer who could come to her villa after school drop-off.
Her mother, Fatima (63), had moved in six months earlier and was experiencing lower-back pain and reduced mobility. The family wanted both women to train, but with very different programs. Athleaders assigned a female trainer for Maryam (strength and fat loss, 3x weekly at 8:30am) and a separate male trainer for Fatima (mobility, balance, and gentle strength, 2x weekly at 10am). Both programs are coordinated by a single dietitian who manages the household meal plan around traditional Emirati dishes.
Eight months in, Maryam has lost 8kg and is stronger than she was in her 20s. Fatima's back pain has reduced significantly, and her physiotherapist has noted improved balance and core stability. During Ramadan, both programs shifted to post-Iftar timing without missing a single week. The dietitian restructured Suhoor and Iftar meals for both women. The program never paused.
